You'll probably be the same as me I would guess so Southern Water for supply and Thames Water for removal.

Have you got a sub meter for your pond yet as you can just give them that reading and they'll subtract it from your bill.

[QUOTE=Feline;279548]Hilariously they did actually just come out

He knocked on the door and said 'I can see your meter going round'.
I took him through to the garden and showed him the 'leak'. He was quite impressed!

    Unquote

I'd bet, this was the nicest "leak" they had ever to investigate Lara.....

I don't think they are too bothered if I use lots of water since I am paying for it
They seem to have policy of checking for leaks if someones usage suddenly increases. Apparently mine has been increasing over a 2 year period funnily enough- initially when the new pond was built but then I think it jumped again when I started running RO.

I had some marine grade stainless steel balustrade posts custom made to my height requirements and then ordered some perspex with polished edges and rounded corners to fit.
sales@simplebalustrades.co.uk did the posts and the perspex was from perspexsheet.uk in 10mm thick stuff.

Other way round for me - Southern for removal.

    I receive 2 drainage rebates;

    1) No surface water runs to public sewer. This gives £45 rebate (not sure whether that is annual rebate or 6 Months worth).

    2) Recently self-installed Secondary meter for outdoor tap which is also deducted from wastewater bill. First reading was 13 m3 which knocked another £30 off the latest bill.

The supplier, Thames water, charge £1.30 per m3 plus monthly standing charge.

The removal, Southern Water, charge around £2.30 (from memory) for each m3 that goes to drains so this is where the biggest potential savings are.

If you were able to devise a system to use pond and bath water for toilet flushing etc in addition to no pond/bath water going to the sewer you'd potentially reduce your bill to that of non pond keepers. Well, all of us except maybe Lara!

I never heard of lots of things,
One being getting a rebate or discount for outside tap.
    And me a plumber!
Does it apply across the country or specific to different water companies? I am with severn trent.
I will be looking into this.

    Different suppliers have different rules.

I have one for supply and one for wastewater.

The wastewater one refunds a percentage if you can prove that no surface water runs to their sewers, i.e all drain pipes feed into soakaways.

They also deduct the outside tap secondary meter reading from the mains supply meter reading on the basis that no water from the outside tap goes into the sewer... I.e it all goes into pond and old pond water all goes into the garden.

    Simon,

Check this out for Severn trent:

    https://www.stwater.co.uk/help-and-c...-reclaim-this/

My advice - Take photos of the sub meter when you give the readings. I have to give my readings 3 weeks before my 6 Monthly bill is produced, but keep the dated photos just in case there's ever a dispute.
