Best UV bulbs.
Hi all,
I wasn’t quite sure where to put this question (feel free to move mod) but I’ve got a EA 110w UV (twin bulbs) and the original bulbs that came with it were superb. The water was super clear.
I bought some cheaper versions, that had a good reviews, but they are sh*t. My water is not as clear as it usually would be.
What’s the opinion on the best UV bulb brand to slide into a UV machine?

When I had a standard UV (these days have Amalgam) I always tried to get hold of genuine Phillips branded bulbs. You have to be a bit careful about sellers advertising Phillips then sending you a cheap unbranded one though. I would go through a trusted supplier not a flea bay seller.
The trouble with UV bulbs is that they still glow purple even if they are not producing any of the right wavelength of light you want.2016 new 6000 gallon pond

The best 55w UV bulbs are jointly Phillips and Osram.
Each one has a single specification where it out performs the other but I don't recall what.
I opted for Osram and always use them but can't remember what drove me to choose Osram over the Phillips (might have simply been price).
