Jebao DCT 12000 pump. Please do not buy!
I'll be brief on the details until this has been sorted, but essentially, the pump lasted 3 days, before stopping.
Fishstreet (the vendor) have stated that they should not be used for ponds, and are refusing to refund me.
Just a warning to anyone that may currently be thinking of buying one.

Why are you advising people against this pump, and not against this vendor?
You may well have a faulty pump, and since it is under warranty you can insist on a replacement. Many members on here are running these pumps very effectively.
The manufacturer specifies it is for freshwater or marine use, and doesn't comment on the maximum volume of water that can be. They do say it should be enclosed 'indoors' though, so you would need a dry location in a filter house or similar. They are also not sold as a solids handling type pump, so wouldn't be a good choice for a pump fed setup.

I have two, one dry mounted and one submerged. Both been running over two years now and never missed a beat.
Great little pumps IMO, got them from fish street too.

Fair points. Although the pump lasted 3 days, you're right, the main problem is Fishstreet refusing a refund. They're adamant that it should never be used on a pond - I guess that's what I was trying to get across.
Apologies if this sounds like a but of a rant (I guess it is!)

Act fast to return faulty goods. Under the Consumer Rights Act you have an early right to reject goods that are unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described and get a full refund. But this right is limited to 30 days from the date of purchase of your product.
What do I do if I have a faulty product?

Also if it is not stated on the box that it should not be used for ponds they don't have a hope of winning the case
Brick / Decorative Facing Block...
Thanks all, some great suggestions. I have loads of white vinegar so will give that a try...
