I have found someone who sells the drums over here. The only issue is everything imported tends to get a hefty mark up,like 3 times the cost.
At the moment even though Draco is more expensive I have read on here that they have the better support,

Just re read this whole thread as I now have a problem with my UV Sunday afternoon pottering in my shed when all the electrics went of.Checked all the sockets in the shed nothing wrong there looked at the pond and the air was not on so on checking all the electrics in the filter shed I noticed that the ballast box for the UV was red hot (80 watt filtreau UV unit) isolated and disconnected everything to find water pi$$ing out of the ballast box sealed unit. I managed to prise the back of and although the box is filled with silicon it was also full of water and after taking the rest of the unit apart I noticed that the quartz sleeve was broken. No idea how this has happened but pretty fed up as the whole lot is only about 18 months old. Needless to say I have ordered another complete UV unit as I cannot take the chance of using this unit now.

Having re read this thread I have also noticed that people are talking of the black box control unit. Mine has never worked form the 4 plugs. The plug that controls the drum and the UV plug have never worked and I have just had them plugged directly to a double socket with European adaptors. Anyone else have this as I was told that most people just plug directly into the mains anyway.

I bought a AEM drum from a local koi shop who imported it. The drum itself is working good for may till now.. The issue i am having is the UV light. It stopped working 3 times already. Changing the bulb did not work. I had to replace the whole light panel each time.. The guy says no one else he sold to is having this issue but im not sure i believe him. The uv light itself is fine along with the sleeve and chamber.
    Anyone else having UV issues?

I had a problem with the ballast when I first got it. But it’s worked fine since. The ballast is not difficult to replace. If your kit is still under warranty you should definitely get the dealer to arrange for a new ballast for you. No point changing (expensive) tubes if the ballast is bust.

Hello guy's, I've had problems with my AEM drum filter, the drum stopped turning, I went through the checklist with Edwin and it appears there's a cog I need to replace in the drum motor itself . I've now got this after several weeks ( no idea why he had so much trouble sending it to me ? ).

I've dismantled the drum to remove the motor but I'm stuck at the final point, I've removed everything apart from the bolt that goes from the motor to the drum . This is the bolt on which you have to have the correctly tensioned nut . I've got the nut off OK but I cannot remove the bolt from the drum connector inside the drum . All other nuts etc have been removed . I don't really want to to force it unless that's what is required .

Anyone know how to remove this / what I'm doing wrong .

    Thanks.

Thanks John, replaced the cog and the drum is working again. Iit does appear to be a design fault with the cog, as it's part plastic and part metal it was only going to be a matter of time before the plastic started to wear.

I've filmed taking the drum apart and replacing cog, I'll post it when I get a chance.

That video will be invaluable to all us AEM drum owners. How long have you had your drum Eifion?

Dont think you have had it long Eifion would have thought it would have lasted longer.
If you kept the old one maybe get a spare made from stronger stuff,Tony at Draco would make one for you.

It would be good for others as Rog has said if you put the film of the change on here.

Hello Rog, I bought the filter in May 2018, didn't fit it for a few months due to a problem with my pond build. So it's little over a years use before I had the problem.
