Hello Ady, thanks once again for the tips I will give it a good check over, but the floats are moving completely freely and even when I physically lift the float up to ensure its at the top the drum still does not cut out. The sticky relay does sound like the issue to be honest. I have order a couple of new ones to replace myself and see how I get on as its that or a new control box at around £180!

So following on from the previous post, I had a specialist replace the relays for me as it was only going to be a tenner, then he said he isn't sure it will work so didn't charge me which was nice. He was right though unfortunately, the drum is still rotating and cleaning constantly regardless of the position of the float so I am now assuming it must be the float switch. I am guessing it can only be the float switch or the maybe the solenoid has gone but that is operating correctly as in on when the drum rotates so I don't know if this would have any bearing on the running of the drum.
Solved the amalgam issue too, that was the microswitch in the actual part where the bulb plugs into although has gone off again now, I am sure this is because I did a reset by pushing the top switch down for the emergency cut out so hoping that's the case anyway!

Another update, it was the float switch in the end, when I got it out I could see on the underside the seal had broken and the wires were visible so must have been making the connection stick.
Now for the next part - I have a few leaks around the solenoid on the drum, has anyone got any pictures of how they have set their drum up with the solenoid in use? I am currently using MPDE up to a tap in the filter bay then a short length of hose which is pushed over a male brass hose fitting basically with multiple ridges. I used cable ties and this does work but won't last. This then goes to a 90 then to a valve like on a washing machine water pipe and into the solenoid but I need something more secure that does not leak, any ideas or pictures?

Another question with the easy drum! I am finding it difficult to get the flow through quick enough and only on a 14k pond with a 20k vario running at 80%. I am guessing the quoted 25k/hour is applicable with both outlets used rather than one? I have the roto concepts gravity shower after and if I keep the float down so the water can run as freely as possible the pump still starts drawing air in when the drum gets blocked but the only other way is to move the float switch up which means with 1 feed a day currently I ended up having washes every 2 mins. I currently have it so the water is just at the top of the flat bit on top of the float switch as advised by SKS and this has improved the wash times but then I get the pump issue.
At first I did wonder if it was because I have cleaned the filter out and the water went proper crap after that but its been a week or so since and still cleaning rapidly. I have since lowered my gravity shower after the drum so that it should flow easier into it which works in one sense as at with the pump at higher speeds it works but if I slow It down it will overflow slightly, but having it level makes the pump issue 10 fold.

Hi all. After having my filtreau HF drum running nicely for a few years now it has now decided that the drum is continually turning, The pressure pump is not running all the time just the drum turning. Any ideas what could cause this? I replaced the motor and gearbox last year so know that is ok have also added a new screen and float switch in the last couple of weeks both precautionary rather than necessary but realised neither had been changed for a few years. I am thinking it is a fault within the main control unit but having never opened it up before am reluctant to have a look. A friend has suggested opening the box (power off) and switching some of the relays round to see if that makes a difference.
I have searched online for a wiring diagram but cannot find one.
Thanks for any help.
