So Im away working and my heavily pregnant other half has the pleasure of moving house as well as moving a large number of freshwater fish and a marine aquarium.
In the mean time at least i can make some plans and order parts.

It will butt up to the garage workshop so I shall run the plumbing through the walls and have the filter in there. The electrician will wire up the garage with a new set of wires as part of the house rewire

You can use 2 45degree bends or a swept 90 will help it with the flow .
Bottom drain pipe work is always gravity and needs to cope with possible blockages from blanket weed and alike hence the need for easy bends and volume of pipe .
Returns are generally forcefully pumped with filtered water and no chance of blockages but the less resistance the better your pump will perform
