    Almost finished

    Hi Guys

Have been busy trying to complete new pond. Have finished the plumbing, just heat to go. Have filled pond, took 42 hours through filters. Have started up and this morning added first six fish to start the bacterial process. The pond is 4600 gallons. Here are some pics. Only the filter chamber cover to make now.

    Re: Almost finished

    Hi Mate

The window is made from angle iron. Mine is 4foot long by 1.5 foot high. I have attached a picture of someone elses window showing how the frame is secured to the pond. As far as sealing it in, I used PU sealant and plenty of it made by innotec. Once the glass was sealed in I then run another big bead of sealer all around the inside of the pond to make sure it did not leak. I got the glass made to measure from Watson Glass in Wolverhampton. The frame cost £105 and the glass cost £125. Money well spent for the pleasure you get out of seeing the fish in a different perspective. The other plus points are you can visually inspect the fish's underbody and in the winter when I have the cover on because I am heating the pond they are still active and can enjoy them through the window. If you have any other questions, just post them and I will try to answer them.

    Hi Mark

To date I have not had to clean the inside of it as no algae has grown. The outside you just wipe when it gets dirty. No real maintenance issue to date.

    Hi Koiman

It is strange, but basically if I had no koi and was to start stocking from scratch i would only have seven or eight maximum. I put seven in, the first time to start it up and it looked right. However I love all the 25 koi I have and would never get rid, but have to say that it has taken away the urge to buy more.
