7000 l pond
This is my pond, and these are the koi I currently have.
Pond is made of concrete and the max depth is 120 cm,volume of about 7000l with a smaller DIY filter about 250 l.
The filter is simple gravity feed filter with two eco pumps 5000 l / h, which give a total flow of 10000 l / h
I recently installed a constant trickle water change system with carbon filter for chlorine .

The dechlorinator will has a max flow speed. Anything above this will allow chlorine to filter through.

Thnx
I live in a country that is not very developed, laws are not regulated in terms of public relations etc.., I asked what they have in city water, but they never answered me, nor will they ever respond to me
the only good thing is that we have many water sources and we are rich with water that is good so I assume that they do not use larger amounts of chlorine, and on the other hand very small amount of the water enters in pond , about 700 l in 24 h .I think it comes 0,50 l in a minute, so it's a very slow flow through filter..
Is it a lot 10 % daily ? how much water do you change ?

I have a house in Macedonia. Was thinking of a small koi pond in grounds, but like you the information from the water company is no existent. hence I have not followed through with this.

What you can do with a carbon style dechlorinator is get a flow meter and some DPD4 tablets, run the water through the carbon filter at the maximum recommended flow rate and check the water coming out for chlorine. If you find any back to flow off a bit and retest, just keep dropping the flow rate and retesting until you don't get a reading for chlorine. If you don't get a reading at the max flow rate then you can up the flow rate a bit and and test then just repeat raising and testing until you get a reading then back it off again to where you had no reading and jobs a good 'un. If you find that you can safely run a higher flow rate than the recommended max you may want to retest on a fairly regular basis just incase things change.

Nice spot Mitsufishi .
I got my figures wrong. I apologise mate.
Had to go looking for an old diary to find my calculations
for 20% of 4000 gal i trickle in. 21.6 ltrs an hour going in . It would be 0.36 litres per minuite . 20% is only an average figure .
I hope there right this time.
If you did say 0.5 litres a min then over a week that would give you a 27.7% water change on 4000 gallon which is 18184.36 liters.Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
