I assume this will be a Spring and Summer time use only, in winter it will have the opposite effect and cool the water coming out the pipe?

I have a few 100 meters of plastic air pipe lying around from 6mm to 14mm, but not sure of the benefits to my pond as its in full sun from morning to mid afternoon

    Please continue testing lol

i will have another go tomorrow but yes summer use only when the sun is warm enough to make a difference, i will not get any worthwhile sun on my pond for at least another month due to suns trajectory at the moment, its only just hitting the roof, it will get higher and will get onto the front third of mine but only 15% at the moment from 4pm..... it gets very good winter cover on three sides but not so good sunshine in the summer...

Great idea to test it Steve and it's working, though I have found when the sun goes in it cools down quickly but if you are trickling in anyway it makes no difference.

Inside my heater was off the temp scale at 50 + deg and water coming out was 26 deg so even though going in very slowly it must be doing some good.
I have it returning at the same place as my main return so mixing well.

You could use a solar powered pump that way it only runs when the suns out?

I had thought of that Roy but it's getting the lift up high enough.
