Had to clear the garage our a couple of times over the last couple of days so I could make the platform for the bio chamber the correct height, connect a temporary pump to it, fill it up, stick some aeration in it and let it run for a couple of days while I PP it etc. Going to put in 50 litres of K1 as soon as I see the chlorine has gassed off so maybe later tonight or tomorrow morning?
My mistake I realised as I was filling it up was I forgot to put drain off of any kind so may need to siphon the water out or get a puddle pump to empty it after PP'ing and HP'ing it in a couple of days time. Might have to scoop the K1 out before trying to empty it?________________________________________________

Not much change recently apart from now the fun sponge knows the actual size of the tank but hasn't actually seen it yet

Just checked the temperature controller as it felt quite warm in the garage, the heater was off and the temperature in the tank was 26.7 degrees C
All 3 koi appear to be eating well and swimming around quite happily
Will test the water tomorrow.
Just checked the floating thermometer and it's showing about 27 and that's the opposite far corner from the filter return.________________________________________________

Just got round to checking the bio chamber this afternoon and it seems it hasn't lost much water in the last week or 2? I'd filled it to the bottom of top supports and now it's just dropped 2 or 3mm I think which due to the garage being best part of 30 degrees for a few days and it's bubbling a little bit I was expecting to see the water level a bit lower. I think I filled it as high as mentioned above anyway?
Just got to clean some K1 and stick it in there so I can PP it just to make sure it's OK to connect onto the rest of the system
Just going to go with 50 litres first to see how well it boils and add more later if I can find the stuff that's currently hidden in the shed somewhere________________________________________________

Noticed the water was a bit cloudy today which is obviously due to the Eazy Pod being aerated constantly where I was trying to speed up the maturing process plus the spindrifter air diffuser could only take 20 lpm and my air pump is 40 lpm so have been running it split between the spindrifter and the Eazy Pod. So I thought I would try a 400 micron filter sock on the pump fed return from the Eazy Pod. Fitted it just before 11 this morning and there is already a fair amount of muck in it and I'm sure I can just about see the top of the BD now. I'm thinking I should swap the filter sock over before I finish with the tank tonight just incase it blocks over night and knackers the pump!

OK after regularly swapping and cleaning 400 micron filter socks I went down to 200 micron filters socks and was swapping and cleaning those twice a day and it wasn't making much if any difference to the water clarity so I ordered 2 x 100 and 2 x 50 micron filter socks. While waiting for those to be delivered I thought I'd try the obvious thing and vent off the excess air that was running into the Eazy Pod. Within 24 hours there was a noticeable improvement and within 2 or 3 days the BD was not only visible it had gone from a vague outline to a full HD version. And after a couple of weekend cleans today it's gone to 8K who says the Eazy Pod is crap with fines? This one ain't that's for sure. It's just running straight off the BD with 30 litres of K1 in it and the modification disc was removed months ago. OK it's on a QT system with 3 x 50cm koi in it being fed twice a day, but I wasn't expecting to see the water clear from something like a milky coffee colour to clear tap water in well under a week

Jesus Christ it's literally raining in my garage and shed due to the QT system running at 16 degrees and causing massive condensation
I ordered some 16mm polycarbonate sheets got 3 made at 1350mm x 655mm and they turned up today.
I've got to cut a couple of bits out of 2 of them for the auto feeder, filter return and top up pipe so just sat them on top and overlapped them so they covered the majority of the tank.
As soon as I put them over the tank they started to get condensation on them not surprisingly lol
I made a note of the water temperature after fitting the sheets to see how much difference they would make if any and how quickly.
Will add some photos later but just thought a quick update would do for now for anyone still interested.________________________________________________
