Fiberglass pond will usually be polyester resin and matt.
Epoxy resin would substitute for the polyester but more expensive and slight over kill.
Just get a good, marine grade (Lloyd's approved), polyester resin.
3070 Gallons. 4" Bottom Drain and Skimmer. Draco Solum 16 Drum. Anoxic Filtration. Air lift returns.

Ok but what is the life on marine grade (Lloyd's approved), polyester resin
I am not going to be moving again so this is my last and forever pond
I can not believe I am saying that but that is why I am going all in with this pond
From what I understand fibreglass will last the longest and done correctly will be the least problematic

The internet is full of failed epoxy paint ponds. Whether that's from cracked concrete or what I don't know.

I am going to go fibreglass costs loads and the cost and hassle and cost of putting a shelter over it was the other reason is a round pond in a v shaped part of the fence making it hard work. As I am coastal and the wind can blow very hard here 20mph wind not uncommon and over 40mph sometimes. So difficult to make something to be able to take it.

Ken Alexander is the person to talk to - Unique Fibreglass Lining - although based in Yorkshire, his team travelled to me in West Sussex by the coast to fibreglass my pond a few years back. I can highly recommend.

His contact number is 07875 308185

Ok thanks I have been in contact with him he contacted me on the forum.
I have had 2 quotes 1 from Ken and 1 from Matt GRP.
I know that they are both good.

I am close to getting the pond rendered now so it will not be long till the fibre glassing happens hopefully the weather will be kind and all will go well.
