Moving house, new pond idea's needed
We're in the middle of the process of purchasing a new property and looking for ideas/inspiration as to the location and design of the pond.
I'm thinking around 9000 litres, half and half (due to dog), concrete block construction.
The property does have a septic tank with estimated location of pipework shown on photo.
Also, added photo of current pond which we'll be leaving at the property (taking all equipment and fish)
Any ideas and inspiration will be greatly appreciated and happy to answer any questions.

Opposite the living room window works best.

Welcome to the forum!!
How long do you intend to be with the fish, where will you be spending more of your time, in the main house or the timber garden room... Do you intend to utilise the space undercover for anything else, erm... Do you have power and water down towards the septic tank area and finally do you intend to be putting in a seating/patio/BBQ/Decking area too?

Thanks for the welcome.
Most of our time will be primarily around the garden, space under the canopy will be used for temporary holding tanks until the pond is constructed.
An outdoor kitchen and seating area will be planned for the gravel area on the left of the house.
No power or water to septic tank area yet but will be put in during pond construction.

Not sure how deep you are into fish, but if I were building a new pond, I'd have it come right into the living room. Perhaps under a wide wall as one large pond or through a connecting swim tube to a smaller indoor feeding pool.
If it's a smaller connected pool, you can temporarily cover it for the times you need a full room again.

That doesn't work due to condensation in winter and evaporation in summer. Its a recipe for horrendous black mould.

Yes, condensation is problem. Most issues can be overcome with good design though.
About twenty years ago in my very first property I had the bright idea of installing a pond liner inside a spare bedroom and filling it up about knee deep with water for goldfish. I had to wade into the pond/bedroom to access anything. This only lasted a year as termites, mold and some structural issues in the walls presented itself.
You could install snug covers over an indoor feeding pool for winter? Or run a large de-humidifier.
I saw a neat looking floor aquarium (me in the photo) but keeping the glass clean would be difficult.
The photo is upside down somehow.

A pond in a house would work. A pond half in and half out simply won't work in this country. You could heat it to match the indoor temperature that would help, but indoor swimming pools cannot be directly attached to a house, they need a separate entrance, for the same reason. Any evaporation would need a proper solution.
