Pond water proofing help
Hi guys
I need some help with today’s technology with water proofing a pond.
I’m currently building a pond out of concrete blocks. Below ground. If my maths is correct it will be about 50,000 litres. Half my garden.
I have looked at most options like pond paint, cement like slurry, fiberglass etc.
The ideal look I’m going for is like a cave grotto style looking pond. Like the ones they build mainly in America with huge rocks. (DIY rocks for me)
I’m no pro but I’d like it bomb proof as possible. Within a reasonable budget Ofcourse.
What I had in mind maybe a little extreme or over kill but I can’t think of any other way to get the look I want. As I’m not 100% on trusting pond paint etc.
My plan..
- render concrete blocks
- fibreglass for the waterproofing
- then using something like plasters grit as cement don’t stick to fiberglass
- cement plaster a rock like texture to give the look i it want. And making some diy boulders
Looking at all the research I’ve done most of it is American based tech. Can anyone recommend something better for me.
PS I’m not a pro. lol

I tried, but nowhere near enough flow into the filter to produce even 6,000 litres/hr. So will...
