    Ashp

    Hi all
I am looking for recommendation for an ASHP for approx 2500 gallon pond. Around 1.5 mtr deep aa picture.
I will cover and stop using the blade.

    Thanks in advance

    Wayne

My pond is also 2500 gallon.
the best ASHP is arguably a thermotec inverter pro (but they are not cheap). work well down to low sub zero temps, and you would want a 9kw model.

but i manage fine with a slightly over sized 12kw thermotec inverter eco.(the larger heat exchanger size makes a big difference in low temperatures.)

inverter ASHP's are more economical than on/off ASHP's by a large margin if not run at full pelt.
if you undersize an inverter ASHP it will have to work at maximum power, and they only get better COP at 60% power or less.

Thanks for that. Actually oversizing might be a good plan as when I get around to it I want to increase the pond to around 4000 gallons Ashp

my 12kw ASHP can run up to 1800watts under high load, though i've never seen it anywhere near that high (i have a hard wired energy monitor)
but it runs at 400 - 700 watts usually.

Thanks again - that's all great info.
It sounds like a 12kw will be the choice, giving me a little room for a bigger pond later.
Nice tidy installation by the way Ashp
