    Pond Returns How to finish

Hi All first time posting on here.......I am planning on having 2 maybe 3 returns (2 inch) my pond will be Breeze block construction with insulation and fiberglass, my question is what should I be finishing the 2 inch returns with on the inside of the pond and whatever that is should it be in place before fiberglass or fixed after the fiberglass is complete. TIA

Hi Mike I would advise fibreglass return plates or plastic return flange theses need to be sanded to allow fibreglass to adder to it don't fibreglass into pipes as this will eventually lead to the pond leaking
    Regards ken unique fibreglass lining

I have two 2" and one 4" return in my pond. I left the pipes long so they protrude into the pond about 6" approx. Immediately before glassing you treat the pipes with microseal T20 with is a primer to promote adhesion petween PVC and polyester resin. This isnt strictly necessary but a belt and braces approach. You then glass around the pipes with a small overlap onto the outside of the pipe. As the resin cures it contracts slightly and clamps down onto the pipe-it will never leak! When glassing s complete you grind back the exposing pipe until 5-10mm left exposed.
