Corner bottom drain
I inherited a pond that currently uses a submersible pump to draw water into a single bucket filled with filter media, which then overflows back into the pond. I want to improve the filtration system but prefer not to rebuild the entire pond. My plan is to set up a 3-barrel filter system: 2 mechanical filters and 1 bio/sump filter.
The pond already has a drain in one corner (the lowest point, with the pond sloping towards it) that’s connected to a ball valve outside, acting as the main drain. My idea is to connect a pipe from this ball valve to my 3-chamber filter system.
My question is: How efficient will this corner drain be compared to a bottom drain located at the center of the pond? Will it work on the same principle?

Sounds like it'll be fine if the rest of the pond slopes towards it

Additional info: The corner drain is only 2 inches, will that suffice in a ~2 thousand liter pond?
