    Mortar for engineering bricks

Just a quick question, I have just started to build a pond, which will be mostly below ground level, with a twin wall made up from engineering bricks.
The base has been poured, with a dpc below concrete which will stretch up to ground level.
I was hoping someone could confirm that the mortar ratio to use should be 3:1 as bricks below ground, or should I go for 4:1 which I was going to use for the few levels above ground
    Look forward to your replies

Four to one is fine. Bucket mix it for accuracy

Thanks big h, 4:1 it is then! I only asked as Iíve seen reference to 3:1 below ground but with dpc on outside encasing pond walls 4:1 makes sense
    Cheers
