Prefilter ideas for a bead on a pump fed system
I'm currently in the process of installing the filter system for my new pond. I initially was going to go gravity fed but then realised that the pond would be too far out of the ground and not enough below ground so decided to go pump fed again.
Current set up is -
Retro BD and pump in the pond.
Pipework work out to a Multi Cyclone filter acting as a sort of prefilter.
Bead filter.
UVC with a bypass system.
600 litre IBC bio chamber and gravity return to the pond.
My current thinking is change the 2" retro BD for a 110mm and then run from that through the side of the pond to a sieve.
After that fit a pump, remove the Multi Cyclone and pump straight into the bead.
Through the UVC and bypass.
Through the IBC and back to the pond.
Just wondering if there's anything else that could used as a prefilter that wouldn't need much maintenance or wasn't too expensive.
A drum is too expensive and the other thing I was considering was a Dirty Harry but that's going to block too quickly and would need to be regularly stripped and cleaned.
Another option potentially would be 2 Tempests in parallel to get a high enough flow rate for the bead between them but would that be defeating the object of having a bead as they would take out too much muck?
Maybe 1 Tempest and swap the K+ for something like K3 or anything bigger than K1?
There's also going to be a skimmer line on the pond which is going - skimmer, pump, pump fed sieve, Eazy Pod and then back to the pond.
Am I overthinking the need for a prefilter for the bead at the end of the day?
Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

110mm gravity to a sieve, would make the world of difference if it's doable.
2660 Gallons. 4" Bottom Drain and Skimmer. Draco Solum 16 Drum. Anoxic Filtration. Air lift returns.

It's a retro fit 110mm gravity BD. Would the same still apply?
I've seen a wide version of a gravity sieve that is not as high as the large version but still taller than the side of the pond so would need to be dug in a few inches to get the levels right.________________________________________________

Yes gravity to a sieve, means theres a good amount of stuff being taken out the water before pump can mash all the stuff up making it harder to remove.

Thanks for the confirmation.
Had something similar with the pump fed sieve I have and was surprised to see the screen wasn't 200 micron rather than 300 micron. But does makes sense to a degree as although it dealing with pump fed mush it's also dealing with bigger stuff which would block the 200 micron screen too quickly. Just going to use the old pump fed sieve on my skimmer line as it has to feed the next filter in line by gravity so not any good for feeding the bead unfortunately________________________________________________
