adding air to bottom drain
hi
as most will know looking after neighbours 8000 ltr pond it has a bottom drain gravity feed to filters. the problem is it keeps starting to block up around the outer edge with leaves and dose not draw waste from outer edges of pond. a quick brush around the dome and the flow picks up again. not sure of make of bottom drain but peering into five foot of water it looks like a tommy drain. can a standard bottom drain be converted to an aereated drain. plan is to add pond covers for next autumn but upgrading to aereated drain wont harm the pond.

Biggest problem is air source. If to feed air line down the bd . Its a snag and you could close the ball valve ( persum it has a valve and not a stand valve. )
Bit liner tape and some black sinking hose across the bottom of the pond to a weighted air defuser with clips screwed in to dome would work tho

hi aj
just seen a guy on youtube that's fitted an air stone to top of the dome but does not say if more effective at pulling debris towards the drain or into filtration system. ive got spare compressor and air stones anyone got a wet suit.

The way the air moves and shifts the water it should help a lot to pull it form the corners mate
