Finally finished and maturing nicely - video
This may be in the wrong place and if so I apologise (site admin please move/delete as appropriate).
At last the pond and its surroundings are starting to look as I envisaged them.

The work that's gone into that, and all by hand you say, incredible.
Looks superb and even to have visualised that outcome having seen the garden at the beginning really is something else.
Assume you are not in the building trade? Makes it even more impressive.

I did have a cement mixer and to try and prevent settlement of the numerous piles of earth moved I also had a "Whacker".
I also cheated because although I successfully lined my last pond with fibreglass I found that this time round the cost of having it done by a specialist was not a whole lot more the retail cost of buying the materials/equipment/sundries.
Forty years at the chalk face teaching Science for most of that.
However, if I look back there have been quite a few outdoor projects I've tackled. I am missing the "don't be stupid you can't do that" gene, so have tackled some big projects over the years.
I guess the biggest was the garden at my last house: https://www.ukzero.com/garden.htm

stunning pond and garden!
you can see a lot of hard work and scrupulous attention to detail went into it
love the skimmer hinged lid, mine is just a 600 x 300 granite slab laid on loose, might have to steal that idea
