I dug mine by hand (with a little help from others). It was bloody hard work and felt never ending. I ended up filling 2 8yrd skips and then shifted what was left over (probably another 1/3 of a skip) through multiple dump runs.

I think I actually did the suspension in on my car as a result Koi pond Halted.

So it's far from ideal, but doable. You have to just keep telling yourself that soon enough all that grafting will be a distant memory (well maybe not for SpongeBobKoi pond Halted.).

The only good thing about mine was all the spoil went on the borders! Meaning they were raised about 2ft all around, its about to happen again

I dug mine by hand, 30 tons later it was all gone! All had to be borrowed around the front of the house!

Where the old pond sat, there as been no ground movement in best part of 20 years. And build a filter pit with concrete base and blocks. And she said it was ok, to use a cement mixer. So by hand it must be
Where you based mate I’ll come give you a hand lol

I don't know what it cost altogether, I did start off making a note, but that went by wayside, I'm afraid to do it now.
