Just a quick question, are you going to put the rebar through the concrete base too?

yes and resin fixed in. probably short pieces into the bottom sleeper. then the rest drilled down from the top with a 600mm auger bit, and hammered into the base sleeper.
12mm rebar on 3 of the sides should be sufficent as the sleepers are flat layed the 200mm edge should resist the force of water from bowing them over time.
and 20mm rebar on the side with the window, plus structural steel supports to hold the upper corners at 90 degrees.

    never...
in the field of human endevours...
as so much soil, been dug...
    trimmed, and shipped...
    through the house...
    for so little, actual difference...

    spot the difference

it's took 2 days hard graft trimming the sides straight,
and back puddling big holes with clay, where there were chunks of brick and concrete half in and half out of the edge...

and even i can't see much difference, but i've over half filled another skip

Looks really neat Dave, nice job. Although you might want to sort that block at the far end that’s the wrong way up.

    i know, it's a bit too long.
i've been on to the manufacturers to make me one 20mm shorter...

i did think about dry stacking them, as they are only supporting sleepers.
but for the sake of a bit of cement i may as well do it properly, before back filling with rebar and concrete.
i've only stacked them there as i've nowhere else to put them...

200mm wide 8"ish?, to match the sleepers width.

It may have taken some time Dave but cleaning them edges and filling voids like you have will make a lot of difference to the finish, especially with the box liner mate, nice job buddy

    cheers,
i'll also be using 2" celotex insulation on the sides, so that should help give me a nice flat surface for the liner.
i haven't decided how to finish the bottom yet, as i will be giving the pond a slight 50-100mm bench down to the BD,
and want something that won't go all mushy when wet.

For the bottom if the ground is good you could always just do a good compacted blinded/sand finish... though I guess it would again have to match the contours/shape of your box liner ??

    done the sand blinding before,
but with ground water pushing up under the liner, can go slushy if you have to get in the pond after filling, leaving big footprint indents

i'm thinking of maybe hoggin or some other gravel based binder, type 1 is a bit coarse with big sharp stones in.
and then cover with tough hdpe sheeting, or even some rubber matting/vinyl flooring to prevent stones piercing through.

    like this
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Smooth-Rubb...8&s=diy&sr=1-6

before a couple of layers of 250 gsm underlay.

i did think of 25mm celotex, but that doesn't fare well being walked on either...
and i'm not too bothered about insulating the bottom.

Get some concrete and reinforcing mesh in there Dave, and make the depth up with another row of sleepers.

if i was going to do that, i'd have blocked it up and fibreglassed it!
i might just sprinkle a bit of postcrete into the ground to bind it together.
then lay some rubber matting over the top.

so by 3 o'clock today, still no sleepers....
    rang the supplier 3 times from 9 - 2 o'clock no answer...
missus rings on her phone just after 3 they pick up straight away...

" Hi, i'd like to cancel my order...."
    30 mins later...
