but the growth rate really seems to slow down a lot over 60cm....

I think they get wider and deeper more than longer at that sort of size don't they. None of mine are old or big enough to really know just yet!

Apart from my mirror, looking forward to giving her a measure and weigh, she was 62cm last autumn but didn't weigh her, last weighed in March 2020 at 9lb.

been a tough old summer for acers, my bloodgood's leaves are well crispy, but it will come back fine next year...
i'll have to do a walk around video again to show the difference in autumn,
but i'm waiting for the colour change i some as the leaves go vibrant colours on some.

they have been filling out a bit got some long 3ft leaders on some big ones which should start to increase the height next year.
it's not that common an acer the momoiro koyasan, the more common ones like dissectum garnet, bloodgood, ect most places should have.
there are thousands of varieties, but some garden centres specialise in them, just have to visit a lot of different ones to find them

    always hungry lol

i replaced all the white(going green) pebbles for 10mm grey granite gravel.
ball ache of a job that was... digging them up, carrying through the house in buckets and filling a bulk bag on the drive.
looks a lot neater now and should not go green and mankey like the white pebbles did.
