plus i'm too far down the line to start looking elsewhere and waiting on a custom order again...
Good point mate, the EU sure seems to be trying their hardest to prove to the UK that it would have been better to stay, when to me they are making it more obvious why it was better to leave

    Too true...
I was actually hoping for a hard brexit.
The EU beauracrats are not representative of the whole of europe.
Only the french and german governments.
Most benefit from trade with us.

Once they'd have lost that and the fisheries that supply half of europe.
They would be more reasonable at the bargaining table...

    starting on the stand tomorrow
had to move my dechorinator pods today as they're in the way, to make way for the 20mm MDPE.
had a trip to two screwfix's both for a 20mm x 1/2" wall plate elbow both times shown in stock, and ordered for collection....
    both times given a 25mm x 3/4" one...and they had no 20mm x 1/2" in stock...

but yes mate, a big relief it's finally here.
thought i was going to have to bodge a watertank for a filter until it turned up

yes mate, the cost is similar to smaller polypropylene showers you can buy over here. but it holds double the volume of shower media.
the build quality is also much better, with folded welds and chamfered and welded seams, giving you neat corners, and a weld thicker than the sheet material.

Coming along great Dave, and all looking the dogs dangles mate.
Love the finish on the painted pond, and that is a fair size shower to, well worth the wait.
I'm looking forward to seeing the liner going in. Keep up the good work.

it'll hold 11 boxes of CSM, i've got 6 boxes static in the existing/temporary filters that will go in the shower,
and another 4 boxes to go in. 10 boxes in all about 100kgs...

i'm going to run it on a shower only and see how i get on,
though might add an extra bio/filter section in the future....

hopfully i've hand mixed my last bucket of flippin concrete now.
as i've had to build a duct to hold the brackets that will carry the pipes from the filter house to the pond.

dug and poured concrete for the footings this week, then laid a course of concrete blocks flat to lift it out of the ground.
i added a layer of sleepers that i had left over, drilled and fixed to the base with concrete screws.
then i used all the leftover bits of timber from the old pond, and the building of this one, to make the duct to carry the 4" and 2" pressure pipe returns, plus the 4" skimmer to the drum.

when the ponds up and running
it will be clad and insulated with 50mm celotex and fibreglass insulation before the cold weather sets in....

Feels less like detail, and more like 1001 problems solutions and compromises lol!
