Hi, everyone this is Dale, 1 of freddy boys sons thank you all so much for the great and kind comments.
Mums literally just been stood next to me reading some of the comments.
She and all of the brothers are so touched at the fund you've all raised for my dad. Words can cannot explain.
You all held a great place in his heart.
My son Thomas was his best mate and said he wants to take over looking after his pond. Many thanks to you all xx

Hi Dale, I’m glad you have messaged as I hoped I would have the opportunity to offer my personal condolences to yourself, mother and the rest of your family.
That’s great that Thomas is going to be taking over the pond! As mentioned by AJ there will be plenty of support available here for Thomas if needed.

Hi Dale and Thanks for the response
Fred was an absolute star and we all feel for you and send our condolences, even though a lot of us never met Fred we feel that we know him so well.
I live not too far away and work in the area and would be happy to offer any practical help if required (not the most experienced Koi keeper).
Sorry for your loss

Hello Dale,
So sorry to hear of your loss and my thoughts are with your family at this truly difficult time. Fred was a legend on this forum and I would imagine I am not the only one who now logs on with a feeling of sorrow thinking about this tragic news. If theres anything we can do to help do not hesitate to reach out.

Hi Dale,
If you need any products etc... for the upkeep of the pond, please call me 07598327049 and I will supply at cost price.
Like many on here, Fred was my pal and someone who I respected and spent several hours talking with on the phone, so if I can help it will be done in an instant.
Keep Reading all the posts mate, which will hopefully help a little at this awful time.
Cheers
Gaz

The highest post count as I've mentioned before is something that someone sooner or later could potentially reach so what was suggested is something that has to be applied by a moderator or administrator to his profile or Avatar that no one else can achieve.
Sorry Gaz I'm not deliberately trying to put down your ideas, honestly I'm not.
It's things that are being suggested all the time and get missed in the mass of posts for the great man.
We're all doing what we can to help with ideas etc so keep them coming OK.
Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
