I'm happy to chip into the pot if anyone sets something up, won't be a lot I'm afraid simply because I don't have much spare these days since I stopped work to look after my wife and daughter, but every little helps as they say.

Same here.
I'll miss his "ha ha brill, mint, belly hurting with laughter here" replies.
Not forgetting all his advice too.

I only joined this forum towards the end of November, but Fred was straight in there to "Thank/Like" my very first post and also quickly posted a "Welcome to the forum" message.
Unlike many on here I didn't know Fred at all, but it is blindingly obvious to even new arrivals such as me that his positive contributions have been hugely appreciated and will be very sorely missed.
I hope that those nearest to him will be comforted by the outpouring of affection and gratitude being expressed.

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
