Sad sad news for this forum. Rip Freddyboy
I have looked into setting up a just giving page. It seems relatively strait forward to set up, but I’m not sure how it all works once donations have been made it seems a small percentage is taken for admin and it will take around 10 days + to be able to get the funds withdrawn so It doesn’t look like this is a viable option where a fast turnaround is required.
It maybe worthwhile charco123 contacting Fred’s family and asking if there was a lasting tribute that could be donated.. for example a bench, plaque or similar for his garden/pond

Terrible terrible news, on top of a world gone mad. RIP Fred your cheerfulness, helpfulness and fun will be missed by me, and many of us on EKF. I wish his good lady, Patch and whole family all the best in this awful time. I am truly saddened with this news. Fred you were a star.

Hi Mike, the only contact I have is via Fred’s mobile as that’s how they contacted me. So I can message he’s phone and hopefully someone checks it again. Nice to see all the love towards Fred on here. Once we have all agreed what to do il contact his phone. Still in shock over it especially after hearing about Mark Gardner yesterday too. Extremely sad and strange times.

This is incredibly sad and shocking news. Fred was the first person to respond when I made my initial EKF post and then reached out to me by DM too. I was so grateful as I was truly at the end of my tether from my first brush with serious parasite problems and felt all out of options. Fred was not just there with his expert advice but understood and empathised with how low, confused and frustrated I was feeling. He strengenthed my resolve to soldier on.
I appreciated how generous he was with his likes - you could always rely on Fred to make you feel heard. I loved hearing the 6am blips on my phone every time I made a late night post as I knew 9 times out of 10 they'd be Fred checking up on the latest activity first thing. He made a lasting impression on me in the short time I've been on this forum so I can well imagine the immense sorrow of his wife, family, friends and Patch. My heart goes out to them all.
I'll always think of Fred whenever I'm struggling to open my outdoor sockets. Rest well lovely gent.

Well put Wendy and glad to see you back on here too.
Maybe we should all leave our waterproof socket lids half open tonight in his memory.

Oh no, this is terrible news
I think it’s safe to say that Fred was well liked by absolutely everyone on here. He was always incredibly friendly, positive and enthusiastic about all things koi, and showed real patience sharing his experiences and knowledge with anyone that asked for help.
I know he had built his new pond to give himself an enjoyable hobby in his retirement- which turned out to be tragically short.
His family must be devastated. I think we are all going to feel his loss on here too. Fred was a one-off kind of guy, a real diamond.2016 new 6000 gallon pond

Fred allways put his threads onto his pond build thread so that he could keep them all together,I would like to see this put on a "stickey" so that we can see his threads all together and for all to see.
Gaz did suggest a momentum to be put on the forum,so can the mods do anything please ?John
