Sad sad news for this forum. Rip Freddyboy
Extremely sad text message received from Freddy’s son Dale this morning, basically saying Freddy passed yesterday. He also asked me to let the forum know that he has passed. I didn’t ask reason of death as I didn’t really wana start asking questions as it’s very fresh and upsetting time. I actually have a fish in my pond which I called Freddy in the summer months due to all his help with me and my building of my pond. He was a fantastic character and never stopped giving to the pond and koi community. As you all know Freddy was a huge character on this forum and I know he will be greatly missed by all! Very very sad news!
RIP Fred...

This is possibly the most upsetting thread I’ve read on the internet in a long time. What an absolute shame for the world to lose such a lovely, friendly and helpful man.
Freddyboy was the first person I had spoken with on this forum and I dedicated my 1000th post to him a while back on here.
Like many, I was fortunate enough to speak with him many times outside of this forum and he was a true gent who would make time for anyone.
Absolutely gutted and shocked.
RIP Freddyboy, it was a pleasure knowing you pal.
GazHobby and business gone but when you’re hooked you’re hooked.
Always happy to help!!

Oh no, terrible news, I was just getting concerned myself as he hadn't posted for a few days but didn't expect that. I really am saddened to hear this.
If his family reads this then please accept my condolences, this forum will miss him terribly, as I'm sure anyone who knew him will.
Rest in peace Fred.

Truly gutted to hear this.
He was the life and soul of this forum, and nothing less than a top bloke outside of the forum.
Terrible, terrible news. He loved his family so much, they, and Patch must be devastated.

Had the message this morning too
I only spoke to him on new years too. We where talking about when I got moved and re build of him getting round here and all that etc...
Literally moved into our new home yesterday and first morning here this news came through.
Shocked beyond belief and deeply saddened. I knew fred in the real life as some here know as we only lived 10 mins away. The world will be a little more glum with this top man gone.
RIP fred, going to miss you mate.
