Thanks! I need to make the pipes 5m in length.

I wanted to water test the parts which will be under concrete, so the bottom drain itself and the air line. It will soak over night, so far no issues.

So completely fudged this one up. Pipe slipped, and didn’t manage to get it in far enough before it set. A lot of swearing, but lucky I had a spare one.

The carcass is complete. Slightly smaller dimensions than originally planned but fits the garden better and is nice and square
    4.13m x 2.20 and the gap for the window is 2.3m x 600

So I am trying to decide on how to do the returns. I have 2x 18000L variable pumps. I was thinking about a return on the left hand side at the front at 30 & 60cm together and then the same on the right hand side but at the back at 30 & 60cm.

This will be in 2" pipe work and should give an anti-clockwise movement of water.

I also didn't plan this before the block work was done, as it happened quite quickly, So what would be the best method to install pipe? Core drill the blocks? Then mortar in place or something else?

Pretty much the same design as mine mate, although I have 2x 10k vari pumps, I'll probably change 1 next year to 20k to run the shower and one of the returns as it's not powerful enough for the return and shower together (atleast not to get enough flow over the shower)

Although the flow still creates a circular motion within the pond.

Yes still and motor I reckon!

Looking forward to your updates New House, New Pond.

Core drill the blocks would be spot on, either oversize the holes so you can compact some compo around the pipe or you could do quite tight and just inject polyester resin around them to hold, as long as you are fibre glassing you will get no residue come through ??

Defo looking great I don’t know what anyone else reckon but when I done mine i blocked in the corners to give a curve so the water will flow round and not just hit a flat wall not sure if you was going to do this but might be worth asking about to see if worth doing
good luck with it all hope it goes smooth then summer time you can sit out and enjoy

Very good point mate. I would suggest chamfer the corners as well. Helps to stop dead spots.

Thanks all. Yes I am planning on fibreglassing. I was going to use some insulation board probably 20 - 25mm around the pond. I was going to chamfer the corners as suggested.

I hadn't thought about polyester resin, this would likely be cleaner than using mortar and probably can be a more snug hole. Thanks for that suggestion.

Okay so looking at pipe size, 2" pressure pipe has an OD of 60.3mm. If i use a 65mm core drill that will give me about 1mm all around the pipe for using some polyester resin. This sounds like the cleanest option.

Drilling through 215mm of block 4 times is going to take some time!
