Only thing is looking at those pics- have you thought about how you are going to replace the rubber boots below your valves? I’ve found they have a lifespan of just a few years (although this might depend on the quality which varies brand to brand). I’ve had to replace 4 of the 4” bends on my setup in just 5 years as they started to crack and split.

You seem to have some good alignment going on there!

Yeah this wasnít my original plan. The bottom
Drain comes up on pressure pipe and is all good. The skimmer line is run a lot shallower in comparison using just normal soil pipe. I did have a normal elbow but there wasnít enough clearance for the ball valve, elbow and the elbow into the drum.

It would pain me to use a slide valve so decided I would use a rubber boot.

Luckily it should be relatively easy to replace periodically as itís just below the floor and itís only the skimmer line. So I would only need to drop the pond level about 10cm.
    Thatís my theory anyway. Hahaha

The pond itself is quite low down because the way my garden slopes and any higher would of dominated the back wall and looked odd. I did measure the pipe distance apart to try and make installing into the drum work, it was just the water height was abit of an unknown.

This morning was a day of plumbing and digging. So sorted out the waste for the drum. And dig the IBC into the ground to make the most of its volume.

Iíve become abit of a fan of uniseals so will be using these to feed the tank and feed the pumps.

Basically all done. The orange underground pipe is temporary drum waste as I am watching levels and want to know how much is going to waste.

I do like the crisp look. I think I will be sad when it all goes green.

    Think positive.
When it goes green that's a sign that your biofilm is developing, which will accommodate lots more friendly bacteria to give your filter a helping hand....

Dont complain nothing can be found - providing the scrapes are done correctly of course

Always a double edged sword... we usually scrape because we think something is amis and when we find nothing the puzzle is not solved albeit from a parasite issue it’s good news....

    Cheers

I'm not sure fitting a camera like this to my pond has been a good idea, I've constantly watched it, worried about evey flash I've seen and generally driven myself mad worrying about the things I've seen.. I honestly think as great as it is I enjoyed my pond more before I installed it.. but I just can't turn it off now New House, New Pond.New House, New Pond.
