That's exactly what I did with mine. Saves measuring things.

Something like this but you need to measure the depth and some are expensive.

I've found with screwfix some things are cheaper and others aren't as it depends on supply and demand so the commonly sold stuff tends to be cheaper.

I found with the bigger enclosures they were not stocked and had to be delivered.

I had a hard job trying to find smaller glands for the probe, picked them up of eBay in the end so have a pack of 10 now!

Think they close down to 1.5mm

If I find they don't clamp down enough and I've used the smallest gland then I use some insulation tape the same colour as the cable or gland depending on what I have at the time and then put a few turns of it round the cable so the gland clamps down nicely.

Just found this one and wondering if it might be a good choice.

Can't actually see the dimensions but being 8 way, I guess it would be large enough and with room for heat dissipation.

Check it out and let me know what you think, please. https://www.electricaldirect.co.uk/p...e-8-way-581062

That may not be deep enough as the MCBs that normally get mounted into it stick out past the hole slightly and from memory the controller is deeper than an MCB is tall if that makes sense?

You find that a lot in the last few years Mike. Most suppliers like wholesalers, Screwfix etc only keep what they know they can move quickly so they don't have hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of stock just sitting on their shelves.

OK it's bloody cold in this garage right now

These are the 2 I have

    IMO EN15C this one is 125mm x 175mm x 100mm

    IMO EN17C this one is 175mm x 175mm x 100mm

Both are IP66 with DIN rails that if required can be mounted inside the enclosure for extra connections but you'll need to get some DIN rail connectors or just use WAGOs or connector strip.

These probably aren't the cheapest ones but will at least give you the sizes you need.

The smaller one will do fine if you are just going for a heater control set up but I got the bigger one for the auto feeder system I described in the PM.

Any questions feel free to ask OK.

    Good luck

I'm pretty sure they are the right boxes but just double check with John that the 100mm depths are deep enough. I can't find the controllers at the moment.
