Filtreau HF 30 Installed water height
Could anyone with a Filtreau HF30 tell me what the installation height needs to be in relation to the water height?
Only I need to build a stand in the filter house and not yet in a position to purchase
Thanks

be very careful ....as i like to fill mine up the the waste shute level ...which can be done but only if you keep the shute held in place as it will float up and touch the drum as it turns .I put a piece of perspex across the shute about an eight of an inch thick see pic it holds it down perfectly and gives you an extra 30-40mm head .....phil P1020183.jpg

When I put my water level to the bottom of the shute it overflowed when I turned the pumps off! maybe I was doing something wrong? As that is the height I wanted to run mine at, I am about an inch and half below the shute now but cannot seem to get enough flow through it

Try cleaning the screen with something like bicarb, I had the same problem and I think it was grease or something on the new screen. Water should touch the bottom of the shoot when the pumps are off. I have 2 20k varios pulling off each one running at about 70% so around 20k through the drum at a guess? It will comfortably go up but as it’s cold and I have very low stock that does for me

Thanks for the reply DJ the screen I have in at the moment is about 9 months old and was soaked in citric acid then jet washed before use then about a month ago I took it out and jet washed it through but it just never seems to keep up with the pumps. I have vario 20k running at 74 % feeding an econobead 60 and a vario 30k feeding an 80 watt filtreau uv running on the lowest setting at the moment due to not being able to keep up the drum runs dry at anything above this. I have tried running the pumps at varying different levels of speed but it always seems to run dry. Ah mine is set about right now then as when i turn the pumps of my water now settles about half inch up the side of the shute.

The HF30 waste chute is exactly 12 inches / 30cm above the level of base that the drum sits on
