    Non return valve

    Hi all I am going to install a bead filter and a Ultrasieve 3 can someone please tell me but do I need a non return valve

    Pumped or gravity ? I think the seive is gravity?, @Manky Sanke also discusses the NR Valves, their uses and the resistance they generally cause.

    I've got an ultrasieve and bead set up I don't have a NR valve however I have ball valves before the sieve and after the bead so that stop flow each way when i turn the pumps off for maintenance

    Hi all
    thanks for the reply’s sorry should have said it is gravity I have ball valves each side of bead so hope to be back up and running soon see so many different set ups and so many different opinions thanks Steve 1984 if yours working fine then I will go with it
