Skimmer Placement - Advise needed please

    Morning all

My upgraded pond that I am working on is now getting close to placement of the skimmer etc. I have been thinking of all sorts of options for placement as I have made things awkward for myself with the design.
    • 6500 x 2600 x 1600 deep
    • Windows on 3 walls (now finalising sizes)

So far I have inserted the following
    • 2 no. aeriated bottom drains
    • 2 no. 2" returns about 9" from the bottom, on the side walls angled backwards towards the back wall (on the drum/bio line)

I intend to have the following
    • 2 more 2" on the main drum/bio (4 in total) so I can keep 2 on at a time and switch to others to mix things up
    • 1 more 2" on the skimmer line just to use in the winter when the blade is off.

What I need to sort now
    1. Placement of the skimmer & Blade - Ideally I would like them both central
    2. although I have done all my plans having the blade central and the skimmer to one end of the back wall...

I think either of the above options 1 or 2 would mean the chances of the skimmer dragging in floating debris would be minimal ??

Maybe I could place the skimmer at one end and the blade at the other - but that would REALLY mess up my OCD

A 'very rough' sketch of the outline pipework for the Drum/Bio (Skimmer line on a seperate page as ran out of room hahahaha)..
    .

When I planned my skimmer. I took into consideration the winds. Which way they blew down the garden and into the pond.
And that's how I set it up. They mostly blow from my summer house and filter house area into the pond
My 2x pond bottom returns are also about 9 inches of the bottom. Placed under the skimmer. So every thing works in tandem with natures winds.
Plus the pond is also round.

Being round is probably the best option as it's easier to make the top few inches move round by returns or even where you put aeration as that's how I worked mine out. Once you have got the circulation sorted out you need to think about how you can stop the food going into the skimmer too quickly. An air stone under the skimmer on a switch or valve is a good option I found.

I was going to do something similar with linking a timer to a feeder but need to upgrade the air pump as it's only a small twin outlet aquarium thing and doesn't have enough oomph to keep all the food out of the skimmer so it's still in the planning stage I can't turn the skimmer off either as it tends to spit the basket out as the water flows back from the pump into the skimmer
