As said at the beginning my build was set to be 7 x 5 x 5 deep, but if I remove this old tree I can gain 2.6 foot in length and Iv managed to gain 6 inches in width.

    5CCBAFD0-0932-4B13-B628-AA95DE248B30.jpeg
so I will now have 9.6 foot x 5.6 foot that takes me to 1,674.3 Gallons, much better just need to get the bugger out, I’m told it was a leylandii.
i ordered all my pipe and fittings from Absolute Koi last night and had a call off Darren to say they will be here Friday.
need to get my self in gear now as I want to be laying the base on Sunday, I’m not rushing the build as I want to get it right.
    updates to follow guys...

Been busy today took up the slabs ready for digging out the base in the morning, if you see the string line Iv gained extra room by taking some of the wife’s boarder, she want happy but needs must.

I’ll have to stock pile the soil till I can sort a skip out, got my three stage dechlorinator arrive today so that’s everything I’ll need at the moment.
Had a mail from absolute koi my pipe and fittings will be here in the morning,
    I’ll update tomorrow guys.

Coming along very nicely mate My buildMy build I reckon that tree will take abit of shifting, I dug up 3 large bushes on my build and that was bad enough!
    Worth it though

If you went to 6ft deep that would give you just over 2000 gallons, just saying

Been waiting for the skip to arrive, and they haven’t arrived, let me down Said they won’t have a skip till next weekend now.
so Monday morning I’ll ring around as there’s nothing open till then now, I’m well miffed off about it.
iv nowhere to stock pile the soil, Iv just topped up a couple of raised planters with a bit but that’s it now,

What a time Iv had sorting a skip out, but finally got one yesterday afternoon so I can now say my base is dug out, although it’s been a bit longer than I thought it would be.
iv still got to remove the old bbq area roofing, Iv got one post sat on an old stool to support it till I can get it took down.

area is going to be 9.6 x 5 x 5 internal so like I said above Iv managed to make the pond a bit bigger, also changed my mind on the standard bottom drain I bought from absolute koi.
darren was more than happy to refund me on it and Iv gone for the spin drifter, next on the todo list is order the mesh for the base and get the base in, I’ll keep you up to date guys as I go.
    thanks RX

That's a good attitude to have for sure, I would certainly be taking my time on mine if my fish were not in a paddling pool

    Hi guys,
Got the spin drifter bottom drain in mid week, and today Iv got the base in with the help off my brother-in-law gone 7 inch and slopes to 6 inch at bottom drain so in affect 1 inch of fall.
put mesh in and floated off as best I could, going to let it set and harden off till next weekend now before I lay the blocks, it’s under a temporary cover to help with the weather.
I’ll get a pic up soon.
