So it was a good weekend - lots done on Saturday with assistance and Sunday on my own again... tonight I have just done a couple of barrows of cement to complete a course - just ONE more layer of blocks and I will be at water level

Now trying to upload photos but my phone isn't playing ball

I was bypassing the filter sock on the outlet of my Eazy Pod and also the Protein skimmer on my wall mounted skimmer line so neither one could remove the treatment from the water. After 3 days I'd turn off the bypass for the filter sock then 4 days later would turn the bypass for the protein skimmer off. It would foam like mad for a few hours then settle down but that could also have had something to do with there being what appeared to be milt? in the water still?
Super Job - thank you... I have a couple of tubs in a 'basket' ready for purchase

Very true Mike, in the end this weekend I just kept plonking the returns where it looked sensible, not something I would ever have worked out on paper

Phone is uploading at last... I think

I have decided to put the skimmer on the back wall RH side and have so added a 2" return high level at the opposite end of the back wall, circa 200mm down to help encourage any floating debris to be pushed towards the other end of the pond for collection.... Well, it may work

The Pallet of fibreglass gear has arrived and the last of my celotex, so a few busy evenings to try and be ready for fibre glassing this weekend, if it works to be ready for Saturday it will be a miracle

So, Bitumen paint/blackjack - has anybody coated up their blockwork below ground level before back filling with muck ??

Yes coated inside and outside. I have a problem of water running under the pond and the water level being high so complete belt and braces for me.

I didn’t as the sandy soil showed to be completely dry for the 8 months of the hole being dug with the slab base in whilst through the winter waiting for decent weather to do the block work but if below the water table it’s a good idea

Cheers Mike, I am lucky that we are right on the coast and circa 18m above sea level, we have no water table problem that I know of

So, I may just run a quick roller full of Bitumastic paint over the outside (below ground if I get a spare hour, just in case

Rained off today with only 4, yes FOUR blocks left to lay after last night (Ran out of compo)... FFS

Well it was a good evening anyway, final layer of blocks for water level so made it ultra precise with the laser on and a new receiver I picked up to make things quicker...

Well it took so long the lights came out again and WOW, did the laser help in the dark, it was much easier to get level, although clean up of joints was more awkward so finished at 9:15 with only 4 blocks left to do thought I would get them done today

    photos shortly from last night
