Nice one on making drains safe.
And the testing off them lol. It's easy to forget that part. Someone's build this year
Had a leak. Once the base was in. Nightmare to rectify.

yep I think that one will need a curved rubber connector to the others straight connector Or i have seen the mild use of a heat gun can bend the pipe slightly, but I can put the ball valves in the uprights and adapt from there.
I was so busy spreading the concrete on the hottest day of last year that I took my eye off the movement.1kGal BD/Skim RDF/UV/k1 2.3kGal 2windows 2airBD/skim Sieve/Eazypod RDFcombi+bakki 3xVP/UV,ASHP

Quite a good day today, I managed to get a couple of guys over for a bit to help finish the base prep, we got more shingle around the pipework, levelled off a few low areas with sharp sand, ran over it with the whacker plate, then laid down some plastic and the mesh.
This evening I have managed to start prep on getting new water pipe across the garden in a conduit (okay 50mm pipe) it is going to be a tight squeeze getting 2 no. 1" pipes down it, I may have to do one of them as a hosepipe still (which I had on my old pond)
Oh, we also set up some temporary timber edgings to help us level the concrete out, and put more supports under the mesh (not in the photos)
Fingers crossed some concrete to mix tomorrow... thats going to be a challenge

The internal dimensions for the water are 6500 L x 2600 w x 1600 deep, well that is what is planned, I may make it a few mm taller or shorter.
The dig and setout is for 770mm below ground and the Drako large bio is 830 required water level - so I may increase that once I start laying out the kit and juggle pipework

That is a big pond. I was going either 7 or 8 bricks high when I started but stopped at 7 plus a layer of engineering bricks to get the level I wanted for the filter.

QUICK UPDATE
Well, I was very lucky and managed to get a couple of labourers over yesterday, and wow they worked like trojans, they mixed 8 bulk bags of ballast and got the slab concreted in a day !!
And here is how it was when I left it last night, I had given it a bit of a scrape over to get rid of any pour damage, as couldn't be avoided tipping a wheelbarrow from 4' up !!
A bit dark by the time I left it but sooooo happy with it !!

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
