So... I bought a house with a neglected fishpond.
We moved in during the peak of the pandemic. Got all the decorating done to keep the mrs happy, then thought right I’m gunna dig the pond out and clear it up and set it up properly... so on I got with it.. my old man came round to lend a helping hand... got mine up and running and now we’re building him a koi pond round his haha! So this will be a thread/diary of both our ponds. I’m after an easy pod if anyone knows of any going Let me know. Cheers
2 pumps 10000litre & 5000litre running into 2 filter boxes with media and sponges.
4500 gallons - 1200 litres.

Have you worked out the volume of your pond! It’s a unique shape so that will be fun working it out! I see you had a few problems with fish, definatly worth working out size of pond for when you do treatments. And you would be doing the right thing dropping the depth down abit especially having koi as they will well out grow that depth. It’s all a start though mate! Gets you into the hobby! Congrats on the new pad

Nice size mate, I’d defo go deeper. I’m at 4 foot on my pond but when I move house and do another pond il defo go at least five n half foot I reckon. More water volume the more stamble the water parameters too. Just saying all this as you said you was guna do a few bits to the pond so thought worth a mention
