Hi Paul, from what I experienced my k1 media was “working” after around 2-3 months. But was probably not fully matured. From what I have heard it can take longer anything up to a year but for me it was around 10 weeks new pond don’t shock the system by adding to many fish all at once. Couple of fish every few weeks is best or even couple of fish a month new pond all the best

    Hi Paul
good choice of filter for the pond. In my experience the pond can take a full 18 months or so to fully mature, but of course K1 starts to mature earlier than this depending on temperatures etc. Have you got a water test kit to monitor the water parameters. With this you can assess the maturity of the bio. A good website is Mankey's
    ammonia.html

Key is a little food, test etc etc for first few weeks. With the size pond you have you could add a couple more small ones, but keep testing! Filter starts don't do much in my opinion, but personal choice. All the best

Hi there Do the tests today on all your water both in the pond and out of the tap that you are filling from. You need to know the perameters. Check the KH and GH especially from you tapwater Keep a note of any readings for reference for a while
