In general have you found any difficulty/delays getting materials?

As said really - any thing you've found difficult getting during the Covid 19 lockdown?

I'll be ordering the pipework this week and I'm expecting a 14-21 delivery lead time.

Wheelbarrows seem to be a premium item.

Concrete/sand has been in short supply but seems to be easing a little.

Not really there's ways round it i think. For example wheelbarrows available next day for collection at Wickes, B and Q have full supplies in store for collection same day. Most builders merchants have been ripping off with sand/gravel but Hews gray delivered to me withing 3 days bulk building sand at 37 quid inc VAT. Can still get pipework next day from the big suppliers.

The Mrs found this out the hard way - we have 2 panels painted seagrass at the moment.. then it was too hot, no paint available, then too windy (don't want bits in it) and finally managed to get two 5l tubs.. Sage colour on the other hand.. nope.. no.. nada and I'd want 10-15 litres of that!

Good to know things are getting back to normal. I didn't want to start digging if the pipework, slab and blocks weren't going to be available. Sand with rain/storms means the sides would simply collapse in.

Glass viewing window for pond, ordered from 1 supplier gave up after 5 weeks with no confirmed production date. Ordered from another supplier and waited another 4 weeks to supply. Apart from that everything else was relatively easy to source

Round here they were making money, first week or so, account holders only, no collections allowed, then relaxed a little, anyone could have it delivered, ten to twelve working days waiting time, delivery charge £60, even two miles away, I can get a pallet to Glasgow next day for less.

There's some guilty Builders Merchants around who have certainly been profiteering

Had no trouble getting anything I've needed to be fair, electrics, building materials, paints, decorating stuff, sealants, pond stuff, no problem at all.

But struggled with people food and Koi food.

At one point it looked like decent Koi food was getting thin on the ground but I managed to get some in a bulk (15kg) order from Cookes.

We finished fitting the new kitchen a couple of days before lock down. Had been living on takeaways and ready meals for a Month. First 2 weeks of lockdown there were times we didn't know where our next meal would come from. Missus queued for over an hour to do a food shop, and came out with a single cabbage, nothing more.

I found pond pipework and fittings took longer.
And cost doubled. But hey ho. I wanted it changed. To 2 inch. And was bored.
