... I nearly bought 15kg of topcoat from ECF a few weeks back. It was on offer ridiculously low. I wonder why...

Well,
Ken just called me to check in with me and said that the stuff you mentioned previously is the stuff to get, just mix it in, but its basically similar to talc. (just shows that for every rude twat there's a lovely friendly bloke in the world to balance it out... Ying and Yang I'd say!) - Ken's deffo the the good side!
I just knocked up a batch with Talc in the shed, worked fine - I did 30g resin but it took 50g talc to get it to a thickness I thought was usefull and then catalyser as normal - holds its shape and spreads like you've seen in the video so I think either would work.. had about 5 mins working time though! As Ken said on phone, it goes off quick!

I’ll never assist anyone on this forum. I hope that’s clear. Slate me for it, thumb the videos down all you like I couldn’t give two flying hoots.
You people just are not my customer base.
Such fun to tune in here now and again to see your disgruntled little asses a crying over here from YouTube.

Why post Matt? You have done your business no good whatsoever.A lot of people on this forum use other forums as well..If i get enquiries about work from people i dont want to work for ,i just say sorry,we are booked up for the foreseeable future but will always give advice ..Absolutely no need for nastiness...Manners cost nothing .Seems you are an angry man ..Youve shot yourself in the foot for no good reason

Oh and there is good reason for this trust me. I never want any of you contacting me for advice or for a price. Said it before and I’ll say it again.

Well. Thanks for your videos Matt, Regardless.I know I called you a 'rude twat' in the previous post.. I'll apologise for that openly here. Sorry.
Your videos are great, very helpful and are what inspired me to give it a go myself.. I'd have been doing it all myself whichever way as I can't afford to pay people to do things (3 young kids), but it was a toss up between liner, render and paint or grp and I decided based on Your vids to have a go myself...
I just find it strange that you'd put all this great knowledge out there in the public forum but then give people a hard time when they ask questions about the knowledge you're freely sharing?
If you don't want to share, and I can understand why, being your lively hood, then just ignore the comments surely, or politely decline.
Anyway, Thankyou for your content. And sorry again if I've upset you.
Rob

OMG - Is the guy posting above the GRP bloke from the Youtube videos?
If so, that's a shame because his work looks good, but sorry to say I will be using a different fibreglasser.
And so will all his potential customers I've sent his youtube links to.
Apologies to all if I've got that wrong.

It sure is RS, which is a bit disappointing as I really like the videos he puts on YouTube.
Like I've said above, I cant thank Ken Alexander enough for digging me out of the Sh1t.
He could quite easily have just laughed at my amateurish efforts and blanked me but quite the opposite.
Thanks again Ken if you read this!!

I do not understand the animosity.
Nor does the reasoning ring true.
How would you know I was on any forum when I asked you a very polite question on youtube.
The answer is: you didn't.
If you don't want to answer comments on facebook, you don't have to. You can disable comments on your videos. But how long would it have taken you to answer: snowcal or talc or glass bubbles? Or just ignore the question, if you didn't want to answer it?
Instead you mug a subscriber off.
This results in a disgruntled person now unsubscribing
from the channel.
Disgruntled subscriber shares the experience with like minded people on an internet forum.
Welcome to the Internet.
Your action caused a response. Quite a reasonable response, I think, calling you a miserable git. I've called my own mother worse than that. You then are angry at the response. But then act indifferent like "I couldn't give two flying hoots" [what you lot think] . Then you spend time, doing the opposite of indifference by actually being incendiary and taking up a lot more of your time to do it.
You mock that I'm disgruntled, but that was the whole point of the post in the first place.... To show that I was disgruntled.
If you don't want these types of reactionary posts on forums, then don't annoy people.
It is transparent to pretend you don't care. Why else would you be on here?
It makes me wonder if you are actually a bizarre type of troll? Annoying folk via your youtube channel and any other way you can think of, then scouring the forums, relishing in the discontent.
I hope that is not true, because that would be a pretty sad existence.
I am a DIY fibreglasser, NOT a bad person. Who the f*xk else do you think subscribes to your channel, asides from people like me? And all the other people you have dismissed out of hand, because of some other altercation you've had which I have had no part of?
So again, why the animosity?
Why not try:
"I do apologise faithful subscriber" and either answer the question or refrain from futile response.Last edited by Alburglar; 03-07-2020 at 01:46 AM.

1. Because I keep my eye on these forums to see how people like you give rubbish advice then hop over to my YouTube channel for advice to put on here because you and your suppliers didn’t know what to do in the first place, that’s all documented.
2. I recognised your username on here and on YouTube that took no working out at all.
3. Every bit of advice I’ve ever read you giving on here about fibreglassing has been absolute tripe in my opinion hence me not giving you any technical tips over on YouTube to share over here with a blunt ‘No’. Then you go crying into your knickers on here about what a nasty and unhelpful person I am. If you were any good at this trade you’d know the answers to the question you asked me because if you were a ‘subscriber’ you’d not be such a lazy sod and watch the videos throughout for the answer that was already there in other videos.
I couldn’t give a toss if you unsub, dislike, thumb down, tell all your mates what an arsehole I am. If you were any good at fibreglassing, which you are not, you’d be out there doing it in the real world like I do and earning a living doing it. Instead you come on here posting comments about a topic you know very little about and when you turn to a seasoned pro for advice and get met with short thrift you come over here crying your eyes out about it.
Get real son.
