Kit Question
Hi all,
Bit of advice needed please?
Having ordered an EZ1200i 1200 gallon Pond and recommended kit to get up and running once installed, I have a couple of questions for you more experienced guys before I start changing the order and upgrading the basic kit if needed?
Main kit to be supplied with the pond.
1x EZ 1200 i koi pond with infinity window and spin-drifter bottom drain
1x Oase proficlear gravity m drum combi filter
2x EA70 air pumps
1x Bermuda Variable wifi pump 10,000ltr
1x 55w Evo UVC
1x Oase aquaskim gravity skimmer unit
1x Auto top up kit
There is other equipment/consumables which I haven't listed such as electrics, pipework, shut off valves etc that I dont think will have any bearing on the questions I have.
I now have a Hydro Pro Inverter 7kw Heat Pump and am hoping to also add a good size 3-4 tier Bakkie Shower to the kit.
Question:
I know the pond is small by Koi pond standards, but is there anything you would change upgrade now I have added a heat pump and a bakkie to the mix?
ie. is the pump going to be man enough and on top of the job to cope with adding the heat pump and shower? or should I be looking to upgrade the order?
Thanks Craig

If you haven't already got the tank and it is currently still being made, make sure they mount the BD facing the right way you want it as the one I got from them assuming it's EZ Ponds who are building it, it was facing 90 degrees out from where I showed it the drawing I gave them fortunately I got over it.

It all depends how you intend piping it all up.
In reality the Bakki wouldn`t be needed as you have plenty of filtration...................but it certainly won`t hurt!
I assume your are going BD - Drum - UV - HP - Bakki
How are you piping your skimmer? Is that going into the Drum on a 2nd inlet. If you you will need to balance the flow from BD & Skimmer as the skimmer is likely to have less resistance.
You will have a high static head with all that equipment, especially the HP which have very restrictive heat exchangers. Personally, unless the suppplier gives an upgrade option on the pump, I would leave it and see how it goes. If its too small then upgrade to a 20,000.
At least then you will have a spare pump.

Thanks for the advice RipleyRich.
I think I am correct in thinking the skimmer will piped direct to the drum as well as the bottom drain. I haven't had any build info back from EZpond as yet??
But was just a bit concerned that the Bermuda 10000 pump may end up running full belt when everything is eventually installed and up and running.
The Oase Proficlear Compact M Gravity has a Max Flow Rate of 16500 L/H and I'm a belts and braces type of guy so like kit that is well on top of a job.
So thought, rightly or wrongly the larger pump running at a lower rate would maybe the way to go?
As a Koi pond newbie, but fairly good with pipework and engineering in general any advice on where everything should be and recommendations of kit placement, pipework, by-passes, shut off valves etc would be really very gratefully received.
