Water level still hasn't dropped so think the problem is solved. Picked up my coping stones tonight will try and get them on over the weekend as well as finish off the pipework. Tried doing some tonight between cooking dinner and glued one of my fittings the wrong way up. Have borrowed a heat gun to try and get it off but not sure if i should just cut it and use a rubber, especially as its on the line to purge the bd

Is it inside or outside . If it's going to be indoors. You could use a rubber boot. I have one on my 4 inch bottom drain. A straight coupler. No sun uv in there. 5 years now. And still going good.
If outside. I would solvent weld it.
    For peace of mind.

The leak seems to be fixed a little dribble which a bit more silicone will fix, however now one of tbe valves on the purge lines seems to be letting water pass is there any tricks that people have to stop the water passing. They are slide valves

The trick I found with slide valves allowing water through.....is to change them to ball valves sorry but best I can suggest even taking apart and cleaning grit & dirt doesn’t guarantee it won’t still suffer from seepage once the seal is loose or damaged

Thats good then.....I have had so many 2nd hand ones fail that I only use them now for “normally open” use & not at all if I can help it & at least with double Union ball valves a spare can quickly be swapped over.

Got some of the coping stones on over the weekend had to stop as the blade on my grinder is blunt and the grinder was getting hot. Worried it was going to break, picking a new blade up tomorrow and try to finish them off

Picked up new blades tonight so with any luck can get the rest if the copings done tomorrow. Pp'd the pond tonight to clean all the pipes and old filtration ready to get some bacteria in at the weekend. Also have yet another leak around the window no idea why its happened all of a sudden after a week of being water tight

Bloody hell mate, hope you get the leak sorted!

I'm planning on putting my coping stones/slate on my next rest days. I've heard it's better to use external tile adhesive for the slate. Are yours stone or slate, what have you used to fix them?

    Cheers

Not having much luck with ghe leaks am I.

I've used paving slabs for my copings, this time around ive stuck them down with grip fill. I used them to stick slabs to a wooden frame I built at the last house and they never moved so hoping it'll be the same for these
