Due to trying to finish the decorating in the house ive not had much time to spend in the pond. Ive managed to drain the pond today just have to use a sponge to get rid if the last few bits to get it dry ready for glassing. The problem I have is that the base is not smooth and I'm not sure im going to have time to get a skim done and dry before the 11th. If i was to but some self-levelling compound would this be OK with the pressure or will it cause problems to the glassing

Just seen this post, sorry I didn't see it earlier. I had a rough base too so I used this on top, basically just mix it and pour it in pushing it to the corners etc and leave it to dry. Unfortunately it poured down the night I done it and as a result my tarp ripped and pulled concrete blocks into it causing damage so I had to do it again! Ponds been fine though since filling in December and its currently empty with the base all looking as it should.

Noooooooo what a bugger. .. did you seal it first with a bit of thinned unibond or anything to stop the moisture getting sucked out too quick ??

You have to say to yourself how much would it cost to rip it all off and re glass it if it gets ruined

Had a 30 min shower this morning which meant glassing couldn't be done today. Glasser is coming back tomorrow to do the glassing. Off to get some tarps today to cover the pond over. Better luck tomorrow hopefully. He also noticed that my skimmer was cracked so now I have to also try and sort that out any ideas what I can do as I cant remove it now its cemented in

is it a structural crack that also needs bonding or just a possible leak point? & where is the crack itself? It will either need a fish safe bonding resin or a fish safe sealant

Its the front of the skimmer where the guard slots in. It will leak thinking i could possibly run a bead of silicone into the gap and the put the guard back in place then runa bead of silicone each side of the guard so its all water tight. Will have loads left after the windowa have been fitted. Have also covered the pond with tarp now too fiberglasser is going to come back around 2 to see if he can make a start
