Not too much longer hopefully will slow down a bit soon once the main build is finished. Cladding will be a while off I think

Hi Steve,
Are you intending to add insulation to the internal walls before fibreglassing?
If so you may wish to just cut your insulation short of the frame of the window and use that as your rebate?
It will save you having to cut the blocks?
Cheers
Ady

Well its up just a few bits to complete before the fibreglasser comes next month. May have a look at starting to get the filtration in place ready to start it all up once the glassing has been finished.

No frames for the windows will be cutting a rebate into the wall possibly at the weekend if the weather changes and then using HA6 to silicone them to the fibreglass. Its good stuff took us ages to remove the window from the last pond

Made a start on digging out the filter pit, regret no doing this wholeness had the digger at the start of the month but at least its only a small part to dig out by hand and only a couple of foot down. Luckily I have a main drain where ive taken the patio back to so I can drill through and put the waste pipe into it for purging the BD's, bead filter and running the overflow from my skimmer

As i don't want to apply for planning permission to build a brick built filter house and storage on the side if the house im looking to build something with a timber frame which will be screwed onto a single row of blockwork. I'm looking for something cheap to fit to the back that won't be seen. Was thinking of OSB boards but not sure if they will stand up to the job over time. It will.be sheltered by the overhang of the roof and the fence behind. My other option is plastic or metal roofing sheets of some kind. Any ideas which is best and will last.

Little bit more of the filter pit dug out at lunch time. Im at the level now of where I need to be in the bottom left hand corner. Arms are in agony after going back to the gym on Sunday for the first time in months. Could be a slow process over the next week or so

I've been digging the filter area today too.. I'm also building a wooden filter 'shed' I'll just using pressure treated pailing/gravel boards to clad the frame with.

Yeah im building a timber frame to house the filter house and storage area at the side of the house. Will clad the front in the same material as the pond looking for a cheap option for the back that won't be seen

Same here Steve, I am wanting to do a low level timber structure behind mine with a pent roof that i can lift up with gas struts or something, hidden from the front behind a slightly raised wall where I may be putting a blade, i am spending too much on everything else to put too much on a pump house, that can be fortified later.... happy to make it us as I go along around the back of the pond

Structure im putting up is 11 meters long 3 meters wide and 2.4 meters at the highest point. Has to work as a filter house, gym and storage area as the house we moved to doesn't have a garage. Its great working from home i get to spend 30-40 mins at lunchtime digging and getting rid of spoil I recon another 5-6 hours till the pit has been dug out. Also thinking about adding a small water trough to the end of the pond to add some water plants, if i do ill be returning my shower through that. Any tips/pros/cons of doing this
