Will do, just waiting for the digger to be delivered. Typically though we've had nice weather all week and then its supposed to rain tomorrow . I've got my pipework ready to fit the drains. The pipe fits in the BD no problem but is too big for the swept elbows. Looks like it'll be pressure up to the swept elbow and then small piece of black pipe between the elbow and a straight connector. Why do they make 4 inch pipe is different diameters

I had trouble with the swept 4" 90, sanded it down, took a while but fitted great!

Measured the pipe 114mm outside diameter, inside of swept bend 110mm. Ive seen a reducer on my local koi shop so may see if that works and just buy some black pipe to go between the 2 fittings butted right up together. I can then use the black pipe outside of the pond. Just means I'll have quite a bit of pressure pipe left over

Bit of progress on the build today managed to get the hole dug out, all the mud and clay is out the front waiting for the grab lorry to come tuesday. Not sure how many loads it'll take to get rid of it all. Just need to dig out the corner to run the pupework for the BD. Next job get the pipework run and tested. Get some rebar ordered and then the concrete for the slab

Had the soil and clay taken away today managed to get away with 1 1/4 loads so wasnt mega expensive to get rid of. Next job get the pipe work done for the BD and get the rebar ordered. Ive still got water at the bottom of the hole which came from an old soak away will this affect the concrete pour if its still in there if.so how can o make sure there is no water when i go to do the pour, was thinking of laying a membrane?

If i'd of left it on the drive for a year think I'd be divorced lol. Was lucky one of my mates knows the owner the company so they over loaded the first load and only charged for a 1/4 load on the second run rather than half load

I was looking at my skimmer tonight couple of questions I want to put an overflow in the skimmer can someone show me how they have done theirs. Im assuming I just need to drill through it Nd put in a tank connector then run it to waste. Secondly I need to convert the 4 inch outlet to a 2 inch outlet to run into my pump to pump to the shower, do I reduce it once it comes out of the skimmer or close to the pump.

Had a little bit of rain tonight. Also found out the soakaway pipe I cut at the weekend is still connected to next doors patio. I'll be capping that off so that i don't incur any issues further down the line

Steve I believe you are correct in how to do the overflow in the skimmer? What skimmer have you gone for? I'm still undecided!
We've had alot of rain too, my concrete didn't turn up last Monday as planned, do I got a tarp to cover the hole as best I can!
So is that water from the soak away or just rain?
What was the delivery time for the windows?

I ended up getting a construction skimmer from JBR its huge but looks like its definitely worth the money paid. The water was a combination of rain and water from the soak away. Ill be getting a solvant weld cap to cap the pipe off to stop the run off.

I decided to lift up the manhole cover close to where the filtration is going to be placed. Can I drill through the brickwork and add the pipe for the waste into this or do I need to try and find somewhere else to dump the water. The drains will be coming up on the left hand side of the pond so I can run a direct pipe to the manhole if i dig a trench.

If u cap that pipe won’t it back up and flood next door?

Possibly, but if i don't cap it will it not cause me problems down the line when it rains?

Spoke to next door, he built the house so knows where all the pipework is he said not problems capping off the pipe. Rebar has just turned up and I've glued most of the pipework together now for the BD need to get a couple of extra bits then can get them in the hole ready to leak test. Once happy rebar can be fitted and concrete ordered. Do I need to put anything under my BD for strength or sit it straight on the clay, cant remember what i did last time

Hi Steve. Sounds like you are progressing things.
I'd dig out under where the bottom drain is and fill with concrete and then sit the drain in the concrete. Clay can move when it gets wet and dries out, so it's best you have some sort of footing for your drain to sit in. I put some light steel mesh in the concrete under the bottom drain (in addition to strong mesh in the rest of the slab) just to be sure.
Good luck with the build.
