Better post some photos to keep it ticking along.
Had a slow month as has a couple of other things happen that meant my attention was elsewhere.
Still progressing well and no actual deadline apart from it is being insulated and fibreglassed in 8 days time !
Base being put in for the surrounding patio, lintel gir the window. I prefer an actual window as opposed to an infinity one. First hole being cut for returns

Window hole and returns neing measured and cut through. Definitely a stressful part . Almost as bad as the bottom drain fitting!!

Playing around with the piping. Fitting the returns internally. Fitting the skimmer. Fencing almost complete three more panels to do. Hard work as we have a three foot height difference between us and next door.
As said ready for the insulation and fibreglass next week.

Looking good Graeme, progress is progress
Quite a deadline for the glassing, but hey if that doesn't push things even harder nothing will

Looks good lol. Can t wait to see the end product. I was the same when pond built
Full garden make over. And new brick walls instead of fences. I like the way you have done the base for the patio. Looking good
Love it

Well three days away from fibreglassing and window fitting and ready to go.
As we are right on the water table and have the problem of underground water flowing through the garden we have really gone belts and braces with a very deep sump by the pond, waterproofed the outside both below and above ground and the same for the interior.
All fully cleaned ready for the fibreglass.

Yes the black does make a difference. And yes Black Jack.
Will be hidden behind the fibreglass but very much of the thought build it right build it once.

Unfortunately just after this stage the pond build had to take a back seat as had a family matter to deal with.
However has now progressed and will upload more photos.

Pic 2 the big boy filter and the smaller filter for the natural pond
Pic 3 cover over the pond to keep leaves out

Working out all the plumbing and returns. Have set it up so that I can run just uv , just heater, and either clockwise or anticlockwise , variable 20,000 litre pump.
Quite a bit of dry fitting and working out options .

Got a bit cold over winter and with January being my busiest work month, worked slowed up, but did produce a few interesting pictures.

Lots of different thoughts over solvent weld joints or rubber connections, also wanted to be able to isolate units if needed to and to be able to regulate the flows.
My dads workmate , probably over 40 years old but still working well and invaluable when working alone.

Putting in an additional 4 inch return to the filter.
Because of my set up and positioning of the filter and bottom drain , the place where I wanted my return to enter the filter is the blank one !!
Not sure why Oase have a blank marked hole. Why.not just add another full hole. The saving in manufacture costs must be negligible . The stress level on the customer is high !!
Heater and temp electrics!!

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
