Cheers, I look forward to seeing how it turns out! For my collar, I used a 1:2:4 mix. I think at the bag size I had, it worked out to be 3 cement, 5 sand and 10 gravel.

I used this calculator if it’s any use to you!

    https://source4me.co.uk/calculate_concrete_mix.php

I have since had to use bags of pre mixed concrete for the bottom drain, as no amount of begging borrowing and stealing can get hold of ballast, gravel or sand in my area at the moment!

Made a trip to B&Q earlier, and while I was there I picked up a few plants for the pond. Nothing is in its final place, it’s just been stuck in random places from the beginning of potting up...

Oh, and as the picture shows, I am incredibly just-below-average at brick laying, which I discovered over the weekend. Just a few paving blocks laid on a semi-dry mortar mix that was then watered in, to hold the bark, grass and pebbles separate.

2 acer palmatum, one green one red
2 dwarf fan palms, one larger and one small
2 cordylines, again one red one green
All impressively cheap too! The larger acer was £14, and the smaller was £4...

    HCairns's 7500l Sleeper Build

I’m hoping one of you guys has some suggestions!
Wether I’ll add it now, or at a later date is undecided, but I want to somehow fit an overflow and float valve to keep the water level steady through rain and evaporation. I’d rather not fit an overflow through the liner, and I don’t want to use a traditional ballcock in the pond due to the size, but wouldn’t mind a torbeck valve if it was a clean install.

I think I recall seeing someone’s design for a PVC pipe overflow that would fit over the side of the pond, but was unsure as to how effective this would be.

    Any ideas/suggestions?

Haha funny you should say that! It’s taken 5 years to convince my mum to let me build this pond, she wanted a jacuzzi in its place initially HCairns's 7500l Sleeper Build

    Plant accumulation continues...

And I picked up a Juniperus squamata for £4, so figured I’d try my hand at starting off a bonsai from from stock. It’ll obviously take some tome to mature and take the classic bonsai look. I’m happy with what I’ve made, but if it survives or not is a different problem...

Well there’s not much to see, but in this case that is a good thing. I’ve finished off the bulk of the plumbing, just need a couple of jubilee clips so that I can finish up. It’s by far the prettiest install I’ve done, but it’s hidden from view by the garden room, and given the limited space it’s somewhat unavoidable.

I also have the liner now. Just waiting on an electrician so that I get up and running! I won’t line the pond until I have electricity, as it’ll just fill with any rain we get and go stagnant....

Screwfix do do one but it’s nearly 20 pound which seems a lot to spend on something that never going to be used again lol what did you do mate ?

Yeah I was surprised at how quick it sets, and how solid it is too. As the guys above have said (if you haven’t already read) just make sure you drill the hole big enough that there is space for a good amount of the resin to sit all around whatever anchor you’re using, and clean it out well!
I blasted the holes out with the hose, then vacuumed when dry, and then wiped them down with kitchen roll to get any last dust out before the resin went in HCairns's 7500l Sleeper Build

Yeah mate I spoke to you ages ago about it and then see the resin link n thought I’d give it a go! Did you use the same size diameter hole as the thickness of the rebar and just drill it in and out a few times boring out the hole or did you use a one size above hole to the thickness of the rebar? Lol hope that made sense. Cheers mate
