Final layer of sleepers on now, as modelled by the mother...

This picture shows how the sleeper screws fixing it to the layer below are spaced...

And the material for the path around the pond has been chosen too. This is only a sample, hence the closeup. They are smaller than they look, 20-30mm graded Scottish pebbles.

The next decision to make is what to cap the sleepers and liner with...

Looking good, the pebbles will look really nice when they are wet, any thoughts on what you are considering for the capping's

I’m undecided at the moment. I don’t really want to go with decking boards, but I could do them in the same paint as the sleepers as a temporary cap.

I’ve toyed with the idea of slate of some sort, especially if I can get some reclaimed tiles or something along those lines. Unfortunately most slate floor tiles that I’ve found so far seem to be 60x40 cm, which would be far too wide an overhang. I need something more like 15cm width...

That being said, if anyone has any ideas then fire away!

Also sticking slate down might be an issue as the wood will move, so you may have to use pond safe sealant

Have a look at standard 5" or 6" coping stones there about a fiver each and there is a guy on ebay who will cast them in any colour you want. Lots of different profiles too.

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to mention stores on here, some forums don’t allow talking about retailers that aren’t sponsors!

But it’s the massive aquatics chain in the uk, that should give you the answer haha.

It’s a Gordon Low 0.75mm EPDM, and I was quoted at £369 for a 2.9x2.1x1.2m with flanges (before my discount).

Nice one. In that case it was Maidenhead aquatics. If you call your local branch and give them the size you’re after they’ll be able to get you a quote in 0.75 or 1mm EPDM, and it’s usually a 5 day ish lead time HCairns's 7500l Sleeper Build

Looking good mate, still planning mine and it's going to be roughly the same size. I'm currently getting materials ready. I'm looking to order my ballast and cement, how many bags of each did you get? Or did you get bags off ready mix.also what ratio did you use 6-1?
    Thanks.
