I’m thinking still the same shape, but come out a bit more at the top right hand side. If I come out any further at the narrow end, the pond will stick out loads into the garden and just look like a big square box. No doubt I’ll get carried away with the digger though

Make sure you get some solvent cleaner for your pipes and fitting. It will help reduce leaks on the joins.
